Challenges Farmers Face

[object Module]

Lots of Physical maintenance required

Manually measuring key data points about crops is often difficult. Many trips have to be taken in order to manually check the soil moisture, soil temperature, soil pH, etc soil indicators on a regular basis.

[object Module]

Difficult and inaccurate water and fertilize estimates

Many trips have to be taken in order to manually check the soil indicator on a regular basis. It can be difficult to know the exact amount of water and fertilizer to give plants, thus causing stress for the crops by over or under watering/fertilizing.

[object Module]

Unexpected cost, water waste, and fertilizer pollution

Overwatering crops could lead to higher water costs than what is really needed. Over fertilizing could lead to crop failure and environment pollution.

Planting times

It is sometimes difficult to know the optimal time to plant without data

Measurements

Combine with the Soil Online system, the Multi-Depth Soil Sensor is able to measure soil moisture, soil temperature, and soil pH etc soil indicators at multiple depth with a single probe. For fast and easy installation. This durable sensor is available in three segment probe for measurements from 15 cm (6 in), 45cm ( 18in) , and 90 cm (35 in) deep. More area sampled means greater accuracy. The Soil Online system is a cost-effective and scalable wireless sensor network for web-enabled monitoring of field conditions for applications such as crop management, land salinization research, and green-hours operations.

Soil Temperature

Soil temperature is an essential factor in belowground plant activity, influencing root growth, respiration, decomposition and mineralization of nitrogen.

Soil Moisture

Water in the soil serves as a critical nutrient for all crops and plants (AWC). Soil online can measure soil moisture (3x depths), Volumetric water content, conductivity, and Soil water potential.

Solar Radiation

Solar radiation can have a real impact on plant-growth, and the soil sensor enables you to monitor solar levels to understand correlations and trends based on basic light levels of Lux.

Soil NPK

NPK are essential macronutrients are needed by all plants. Knowing the NPK value of your soil and fertiliser helps you give the right amount of nutrients to your plants. Embedded with the new generation NPK soil sensors, the Soil online system is able to obtain the Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium (pot-ash) of soil.

Soil pH

Soil pH or soil reaction is an indication of the acidity or alkalinity of soil and is measured in pH units. The effect of soil pH is great on the solubility of minerals or nutrients, can also influence plant growth.

Soil Salinity

Soil electrical conductivity (EC) is a measure of the amount of salts in soil (salinity of soil). It is an excellent indicator of nutrient availability and loss, soil texture, and available water capacity.

Soil oxygen levels, Respiration, Porosity, and Waterlogging

Both carbon dioxide and oxygen play important roles in plant growth. Reducing Oxygen concentration in the soil affects plant biological processes such as nutrient and water uptake as well as respiration. Waterlogging will lead to soil lack of oxygen. Soils that have lower porosity also have a lower respiration rate. In the short term, a high rate of soil respiration is not necessarily desirable; it may indicate an unstable soil system and loss of SOM from excessive tillage or other factors.

Other Measurements

The soil sensor supports additional measurements of air temperature and humidity, 24-hour rainfall, Root penetration, Soil erosion etc…

System Features & Benefits

[object Module]

Accurate soil monitoring

This durable sensor is available in three segment probe for measurements from 15 cm (6 in), 45cm ( 18in) , and 90 cm (35 in) deep. IoT sensors can measure soil moisture, soil temperature, soil pH, soil oxygen levels, etc more than 10 soil indicators. More area sampled means greater accuracy.

[object Module]

Checking the soil status anytime, anywhere

The soil sensor collects the soil data every 15 mins. Data from the IoT sensors are then transmitted back to the cloud/platform for analysis, visualization, and trend analysis. Supports real-time alarm when one of the soil indicators reaches a value outside the standards. Allow farmers to make rapid measures possible.

[object Module]

Increasing productivity and labor-saving

The Soil Online system improves the profitability of your farm by feeding farmers and landowners with better data live from the crops, help landowners and farmers reduce manpower, reduce maintenance cost and environmental impact, and make the best possible decisions for planting, watering, fertilizing and pest control.
